This MW.org administrator keeps doing nonsensical changes at times. The last one affecting me was undoing an edit of mine to fix a broken URL. He claims to use a neutral URL to allow automatic redirection to the user's preferred language version of the page but his change simply creates a dead link because there's no other page than the en/US page.

Uploadtext

I'd like to have Interface Admin to fix Dark Mode problems, the current interface admins didn't respond in a meaningful way for over a month on my two edit requests. I did not make any change because I wanted to find out why this interface message is not translated using translatewiki and using the same layout for every language. @GPSLeo: An IA TA would probably need to mark the main (English) version for translation, and then each language subpage listed here would probably need to be translated by Admins. Having it only translatable by admins would be huge problem. This is why I would like to use translatewiki. Maybe @Raymond can help how we can get this page to be translated on translatewiki. GPSLeo (talk) 11:07, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@GPSLeo The message is translatable on translatewiki: see MediaWiki:Uploadtext/en and existing translations. But this message is wiki neutral. It is not possible to translate the special Commons message because ten of thousands of 3rd party wiki are using the same wiki neutral message. A WMF specific message could be added via a patch to Gerrit, so that this local message could be translated. Needs some thoughts and time. Raymond (talk) 11:43, 23 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
